Build Planner & Resource Totals
Add one or more craftable items to your build plan, then calculate the total materials needed for your ARK session. Recipe values are practical approximations for planning purposes.

Why use an ARK resources calculator?
In ARK: Survival Evolved and ARK: Survival Ascended, progress is bottlenecked by materials. You can tame the right dinos, unlock the right engrams, and still lose hours if your crafting plan is disorganized. A resources calculator helps you estimate exactly what to farm before you start building, breeding, or raiding.
Instead of guessing and making repeated farming trips, a calculator gives you a complete shopping list: ingots, cementing paste, polymer, crystal, oil, and more. This is especially useful on PvP servers where timing matters and exposed farming routes can get punished.
How this calculator works
1) Build your plan
Select an item, enter quantity, and click Add Item. You can add multiple items to simulate an entire session—for example, generators, turrets, and a vault in one pass.
2) Apply server settings
- Crafting Cost Multiplier: scales resource costs up or down.
- Gather Rate Multiplier: doesn’t change total craft cost, but does estimate relative farming effort.
3) Calculate totals
Click Calculate Totals to generate a combined material list. The results include:
- Total required resources
- Approximate stacks needed
- Estimated equivalent effort at your gather rate
Practical farming strategy by resource
Metal Ingot
Always plan metal-heavy projects in batches. Bring an Ankylo, use an Argentavis (or weight-focused flyer), and process ore in multiple forges or an industrial forge. Your throughput jumps massively when smelting is continuous.
Cementing Paste
Most players underestimate paste demand. Beavers, dams, and Achatina help early; late game, convert stone/chitin efficiently when possible. If your calculator shows high paste totals, treat that as the true pacing resource.
Polymer and Electronics
Advanced items quickly spike in polymer and electronics. Stockpile obsidian/crystal/oil early, and don’t wait until turret day to start gathering pearls and metal.
Example use case
Suppose you want to craft:
- 1 Industrial Forge
- 1 Generator
- 6 Auto Turrets
- 1 Vault
Adding these into the planner gives a realistic combined list. That lets your tribe split jobs efficiently: one player on metal and crystal, one on oil and paste, one on polymer and electronics. Fewer wasted trips, faster base progression.
Common mistakes this tool helps avoid
- Starting builds before checking total ingot demand
- Ignoring paste and polymer bottlenecks
- Forgetting server multipliers when estimating farm time
- Crafting one structure at a time instead of batching materials
Final thoughts
ARK rewards preparation. A resources calculator turns a grind-heavy game into a strategy game: gather once, craft once, move on. Use this planner before major projects, boss prep, or defense upgrades, and you’ll feel the difference immediately.
