Interactive Bagua Map Calculator
Enter your space dimensions, choose your front-door wall alignment, and generate a 3×3 Bagua layout with sector sizes and coordinate ranges.
What this Bagua map calculator does
A Bagua map divides a space into nine equal zones that correspond to common life themes in feng shui: Wealth, Fame, Love, Family, Health, Creativity, Knowledge, Career, and Helpful People. This calculator takes a rectangular floor plan and quickly computes:
- Total floor area
- Size of each of the 9 sectors
- A visual 3×3 Bagua grid aligned to your selected front-door wall
- Simple coordinate ranges so you can place each sector on a sketch or blueprint
How to use it correctly
1) Measure your space
Measure the full width and depth of the level you want to map. Use the same unit for both numbers (feet or meters). If your floor plan is irregular, measure the largest bounding rectangle first, then adjust manually as needed.
2) Choose the front door wall
In many modern feng shui approaches, the Bagua is aligned to the wall containing the main entrance. Select that wall in the calculator so the grid rotates to match your layout.
3) Apply the output to your floor plan
Draw a rectangle representing your space, split it into 3 equal columns and 3 equal rows, then label each sector according to the generated table. The coordinate ranges help you map sectors precisely.
Quick meaning guide for the 9 Bagua sectors

Tips for irregular homes and apartments
L-shaped or cutout layouts
Start with the full rectangle that encloses the home. If a Bagua sector is partially missing, treat it as a lower-emphasis zone and strengthen that life area with intentional design, lighting, cleanliness, and activity in nearby connected spaces.
Multi-level homes
Apply the Bagua separately to each floor if your goals are room-specific. If your intention is whole-home energy, begin with the main living level and main entrance.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Using inconsistent measurement units
- Forgetting to align the grid with the intended front door wall
- Assuming perfection is required (small deviations are normal)
- Trying to “fix everything at once” instead of making targeted changes
Practical reminder
The Bagua is a planning framework, not a strict rulebook. Use it as a structured way to think about your environment and priorities. The best results typically come from combining the map with practical improvements: decluttering, better lighting, storage systems, and spaces designed around your real daily habits.
