What this BDO trade distance calculator does

In Black Desert Online, distance can dramatically change trade outcomes. This calculator helps you estimate how much your route distance contributes to final sale value, then combines that with bargaining and optional extra buffs to give you a quick silver forecast.

Instead of guessing if a long wagon run is worth it, you can model your route before you move goods. The tool is especially useful for comparing short, safe routes against longer, high-bonus routes.

How the calculator works

1) Distance bonus estimate

If manual mode is off, the calculator uses:

Estimated Distance Bonus % = min(distance × rate, max distance bonus)

This is intentionally configurable because players track route values in different ways. If you already know your exact distance bonus from in-game data or a route sheet, simply turn on manual mode and input that value directly.

2) Total sale multiplier

The calculator adds your distance bonus, bargain bonus, and extra bonus:

Total Multiplier = 1 + (distance bonus + bargain bonus + extra bonus) / 100

3) Profit estimate

Sale value is compared against the base item value and your fixed costs:

  • Sell per item = base value × total multiplier
  • Gross sale = sell per item × quantity
  • Total cost = base value × quantity + fixed costs
  • Net profit = gross sale − total cost
This is a planning tool, not an official in-game formula mirror. Use manual bonus mode for maximum accuracy when you already know exact route bonus values.

How to use it effectively

  1. Enter your expected base item value and quantity.
  2. Input route distance, or switch to manual distance bonus mode.
  3. Add bargain and any extra modifiers you want to include.
  4. Include fixed expenses (transport, setup, or other overhead).
  5. Run several scenarios and compare net profit.

Quick scenario example

Input Example value
Base item value 100,000 silver
Quantity 50
Distance score 1,200
Rate / Max bonus 0.12% per point / 150% cap
Bargain / Extra 5% / 0%

In this case, estimated distance bonus is 144%. After adding bargain bonus, total multiplier is 2.49x, and the run projects a strong gain versus base value.

Trade optimization tips for BDO

  • Always compare at least two routes before committing large quantities.
  • Track your typical bonus values and tune the distance rate to your own data.
  • Don’t ignore fixed costs; they can erase margin on small loads.
  • If you have exact route numbers, use manual bonus mode for precision.
  • Batch your calculations: same route, different item values and quantities.

FAQ

Is this only for crates?

No. You can use it for any trade scenario where distance-related value change matters and you want a quick profit estimate.

What should I enter as base item value?

Use your effective cost basis per unit: purchase cost, crafting cost, or whichever internal value you use to measure profitability.

Why include a manual distance bonus?

Because many players track exact route bonus values from their own sheets or in-game checks. Manual mode lets this calculator stay useful regardless of your preferred data source.
