How this calculator works

- Add your selected wastage percentage (spillage, uneven base, handling losses).
- Convert wet volume to dry volume using a factor of 1.54.
- Split dry volume according to the selected mix ratio (cement:sand:aggregate).
- Convert cement volume to mass using a density of approximately 1440 kg/m³.
The output gives a quick material takeoff suitable for planning and budgeting.

Typical nominal mixes
- 1:4:8 – Lean mix, often for leveling or non-structural base layers.
- 1:3:6 (M10) – Low-strength applications and simple domestic work.

2) Add waste allowance

4) Set bag size and water-cement ratio
Bag size is commonly 50 kg. Water-cement ratio is often around 0.45 to 0.55 depending on workability and design.
