Calendar Days Calculator

Use this tool to calculate the number of calendar days between two dates, or add/subtract days from a specific date.

1) Days Between Dates

2) Add or Subtract Calendar Days

This calculator uses true calendar day counting (including weekends and holidays).

What is a calendar days calculator?

A calendar days calculator helps you count the exact number of days between two dates or find a future/past date by adding or subtracting days. Unlike business day calculators, calendar day tools include every day on the calendar: weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

When this calculator is useful

  • Counting days until a deadline, trip, or event
  • Checking contract, legal, or policy timelines stated in calendar days
  • Planning project milestones and countdowns
  • Finding a date that is exactly 7, 30, 90, or 365 days away
  • Personal goals like fitness streaks, saving plans, or habit tracking

How calendar day counting works

Exclusive counting (default)

Exclusive counting measures the distance from one date to another without counting the start date itself. Example: from March 1 to March 2 is 1 day.

Inclusive counting

Inclusive counting includes both the start and end date. Example: from March 1 to March 2 is 2 days when counted inclusively. This is common in policy language, leave periods, and certain legal contexts.

Add/subtract mode

For planning, you may know the date and the number of days to move forward or backward. The add/subtract section does exactly that and returns the resulting calendar date with the weekday.

Examples

Example 1: You book a hotel on June 10 and check out on June 15. The difference is 5 calendar days (exclusive) or 6 days (inclusive).

Example 2: A payment is due in 30 calendar days from April 1. Enter April 1, choose “Add days,” enter 30, and get the due date instantly.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Mixing business days and calendar days: They are not the same.
  • Not clarifying inclusive vs exclusive: Always confirm how the period is defined.
  • Manual counting on long ranges: Easy to make errors around month ends and leap years.
  • Ignoring date order: If start date is later than end date, the result can be negative (which simply indicates direction).

FAQ

Does this handle leap years?

Yes. Date math automatically accounts for leap years, including February 29.

Are weekends and holidays included?

Yes. This is a pure calendar day tool, so every date is counted.

Can I calculate backwards?

Absolutely. In add/subtract mode, choose “Subtract days” to move to a past date.

Bottom line

If you need a simple, accurate way to count days on the calendar, this calculator gives fast results and removes guesswork. Use exclusive counting for standard day differences, and inclusive counting when policy or contract language says to include both dates.
