Pokémon GO Candy Planner Calculator

Estimate if you have enough candy for evolutions, power-ups, and purification plans.

Enter your plan and click Calculate Candy Plan to see if you have a candy surplus or shortage.

Why use a Pokémon GO candy calculator?

In Pokémon GO, candy is your progression fuel. You need it for evolution, powering up, and purification. The challenge is that candy disappears quickly when you build raid attackers, PvP picks, or complete Pokédex goals. A candy calculator helps you make decisions before spending resources.

Instead of guessing, you can estimate exactly how much candy your plan needs and compare that with what you already have plus what you expect to gain from catches, transfers, walking, and rare candy.

How this candy calculator works

This calculator uses a straightforward method:

  • Total needed = evolution cost + power-up cost + purification cost
  • Total available = current candy + rare candy + candy from catches + transfers + walking + other gains
  • Net result = total available − total needed

If your net result is negative, the tool also estimates how many additional regular catches you may need (assuming 3 candy per catch) to close the gap.

Step-by-step guide to using the tool

1) Enter your current resources

Start with your current candy and any rare candy you plan to convert. This is your baseline budget.

2) Enter your spending plan

Set how many evolutions, power-up steps, and purifications you want. If your target species has a different evolution cost (like 25, 50, 100, or 400 candy), update the value accordingly.

3) Add expected candy gains

Include how many catches you expect to do, how many of those use Pinap berries, and how many Pokémon you intend to transfer. If you are walking a buddy, add distance to estimate buddy candy.

4) Calculate and adjust

Click the button and review your surplus or shortage. If you are short, increase catch goals, walk more, or reduce your upgrade plan.

Practical candy farming tips

  • Use Pinap berries on hard-to-find species to double catch candy.
  • Save transfers for high-volume cleanups to get steady extra candy.
  • Stack event bonuses (double catch candy + Pinap) when possible.
  • Set a buddy strategically when you need candy for one specific build.
  • Avoid impulsive power-ups until you confirm IVs, moves, and role.

Example scenarios

Dex completion session

You have 180 candy and want 4 evolutions at 25 candy each. That costs 100 candy. If you plan 20 regular catches and 20 transfers, you gain 60 + 20 = 80 additional candy. Total available becomes 260, leaving a 160 candy surplus after evolutions.

Raid attacker build

You want 30 power-up steps at 3 candy each (90 candy) and one evolution at 100 candy. With 110 current candy and 20 rare candy, you are still short unless you add catch and walking gains.

Important notes

  • Candy values can vary in special events or with seasonal bonuses.
  • This tool focuses on candy only; it does not track Stardust costs.
  • XL Candy is separate and is not included in this calculator.
  • Always verify game updates if Niantic adjusts mechanics.

Final thought

A good Pokémon GO strategy is not just catching more—it is planning smarter. Use this candy calculator before major upgrade sessions so your candy goes exactly where it creates the most value: stronger raid teams, better PvP builds, and faster Pokédex progress.
