How the formula works

Chlorine concentration is measured in parts per million (ppm). A 1 ppm increase means adding 1 mg of chlorine per liter of water. For liquid chlorine products, a practical field formula is:

Dose (same volume units as pool) = Pool Volume × FC Increase / (Strength% × 10,000)

Where FC Increase = Target FC - Current FC. If your pool volume is in gallons, the result is in gallons. If your pool volume is in liters, the result is in liters.
