Cribbage Hand Scorer
Enter 4 hand cards and 1 starter card. Use values like 5H, 10D, QS, or AC.
Tip: This calculator scores fifteens, pairs, runs, flush, and nobs. It does not add "his heels" (2 for a cut jack during deal).
What is a crib hand calculator?
A crib hand calculator is a quick way to score a 5-card cribbage set: your 4-card hand (or crib) plus the starter card. Instead of manually counting combinations, the tool computes every scoring component for you and returns a total point value instantly.
How cribbage scoring is counted
1) Fifteens
Any combination of cards that adds to 15 scores 2 points. Face cards count as 10, aces count as 1. A single hand can contain multiple fifteens.
2) Pairs
Each pair is worth 2 points. If you hold three of a kind, that counts as 3 separate pairs (6 points). Four of a kind counts as 6 pairs (12 points).
3) Runs
A run is 3 or more consecutive ranks. Duplicate ranks can multiply runs (for example, a double run or triple run).
4) Flush
- Regular hand: 4 cards of the same suit in hand = 4 points; include starter same suit = 5.
- Crib: flush only counts if all 5 cards match suit.
5) Nobs
If one of your 4 hand cards is a jack matching the starter card suit, score 1 point for nobs.
How to use this calculator

Example
Try this classic maximum hand: 5H, 5D, 5S, JC + starter 5C. The score is 29 points in a regular hand, which is the highest possible cribbage hand score.
Why this tool helps
Even experienced players can miss a duplicated run or extra fifteen under pressure. A dependable cribbage calculator is useful for learning, post-game review, and checking close tournament hands quickly.
