Pregnancy Day Calculator

Find your current day of pregnancy, gestational age in weeks and days, trimester, and estimated due date.

Note: Pregnancy dating is an estimate and may differ from ultrasound dating.

What this day of pregnancy calculator tells you

A day of pregnancy calculator gives a more precise view than only showing “week 12” or “week 24.” It estimates your exact pregnancy day number, then converts that into gestational age in weeks + days. This is helpful if you are tracking symptoms, appointments, baby growth milestones, or simply trying to understand what your care team means when they say things like “20 weeks and 3 days.”

  • Current day of pregnancy (example: Day 103)
  • Gestational age in weeks and days (example: 14 weeks + 4 days)
  • Estimated due date based on standard 280-day pregnancy length
  • Estimated conception date (approximate)
  • Trimester and progress through the typical pregnancy timeline

How pregnancy day is calculated

Most calculators and clinics count pregnancy from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP), not from conception. That means pregnancy day 1 starts before fertilization occurs. This approach is standard because LMP is usually easier to identify than exact conception timing.

Basic formula

If your LMP is known, the calculator uses:

  • Pregnancy day = days between LMP and selected date + 1
  • Estimated due date = LMP + 280 days

If your due date is known, the calculator reverses the formula to estimate your LMP first, then computes your pregnancy day.

How to use this calculator correctly

Option 1: Use your LMP

Pick the first day of your last period, then choose the date you want to measure (today, a future appointment date, or any date in your pregnancy timeline).

Option 2: Use your due date

If your doctor already gave you a due date from ultrasound or fertility treatment records, choose the due-date method. The tool will estimate your pregnancy day from that date.

Best practices for accuracy

  • Use medically confirmed dates whenever possible.
  • If your cycles are irregular, rely more on your clinician’s ultrasound dating.
  • If you conceived through IVF, your fertility clinic date may be more accurate than LMP-based estimates.

Understanding the output

Here is a simple way to read the results:

  • Day of pregnancy: Running day count from LMP.
  • Weeks + days: Standard clinical format, such as 18w + 2d.
  • Days remaining: Time until estimated due date; can be negative if overdue.
  • Trimester: First, second, or third trimester based on gestational day range.

Frequently asked questions

Is this calculator a diagnosis tool?

No. It is a planning and education tool only. It cannot diagnose pregnancy health conditions.

Why does my app show a different week?

Different apps may use slightly different assumptions (time zones, rounding rules, or ultrasound-adjusted dating). Small differences are common.

Can I use this if I am trying to conceive?

Yes. This tool can help estimate timeline milestones, but ovulation and implantation timing still vary person to person.

Medical note

Always use this calculator alongside professional prenatal care. Contact your clinician for bleeding, severe pain, reduced fetal movement, or any urgent concerns. Clinical ultrasound and provider judgment should guide final dating decisions.
