DIY E‑Juice Calculator

Enter your target recipe values below. This tool calculates how many milliliters of nicotine base, flavor concentrate, extra PG, and extra VG you need.

Tip: Most flavor concentrates are PG-based, so 100% PG is a common default.

How this DIY e‑juice calculator works

Mixing vape juice is mostly math. You choose a final bottle size, target nicotine strength, and PG/VG ratio. The calculator then determines how much each component contributes to the final bottle. This helps avoid guesswork and keeps every batch consistent.

The tool on this page assumes you are mixing with four parts:

  • Nicotine base
  • Flavor concentrate
  • Additional propylene glycol (PG)
  • Additional vegetable glycerin (VG)

What each input means

Final bottle size (ml)

This is the total amount of finished e‑liquid you want to make, such as 30 ml, 60 ml, or 120 ml.

Target nicotine strength

Your desired nicotine level in mg/ml (for example, 3 mg/ml or 6 mg/ml). If you make zero‑nic liquid, enter 0.

Nicotine base strength and ratio

Nicotine is usually sold diluted in PG, VG, or a mix. Enter the concentration of that base (commonly 100 mg/ml) and the PG percentage of that nicotine base.

Target PG/VG ratio

Enter your preferred final blend, such as 30/70 or 50/50. The calculator requires PG% + VG% = 100%.

Flavor percentage

This is the total flavor load in your recipe. If your recipe uses multiple concentrates, add their percentages.

Example recipe calculation

Suppose you want a 60 ml bottle at 3 mg/ml, with 30/70 PG/VG and 10% flavor, using 100 mg/ml nicotine in PG. The calculator will break out the exact ml of nicotine, flavor, PG, and VG needed. You can then weigh or measure each component and mix confidently.

Safety best practices for DIY mixing

  • Wear nitrile gloves and protect your eyes when handling nicotine.
  • Label every bottle clearly with nicotine strength and date mixed.
  • Keep nicotine and finished e‑liquids away from children and pets.
  • Use syringes, graduated cylinders, or a precision scale for accuracy.
  • Work in a clean, well-lit, low-distraction environment.

Troubleshooting common calculator warnings

“Impossible mix” warning

If PG or VG shows as negative, your settings conflict. Usually this means nicotine base and flavor PG/VG contributions already exceed your target ratio. Lower flavor %, change base ratio, or adjust PG/VG target.

Recipe doesn’t total exactly

Tiny differences can happen because of rounding. The calculator uses decimal math and rounds displayed values, but internal values are more precise.

Final notes

A good DIY e‑juice workflow is simple: calculate, measure, label, and record your results. Keep your successful recipes in a notebook (or spreadsheet), including steep time and tasting notes. That makes it easy to improve your blends over time and produce consistent bottles every time.
