fe heroes damage calculator

FE Heroes Damage Calculator

Quickly estimate combat damage in Fire Emblem Heroes with common modifiers like triangle advantage, effective damage, true damage, and damage reduction.

Enter values and click Calculate Damage to see per-hit and total damage.

Note: This is a simplified FEH model and may not include every in-game edge case (multi-step specials, fixed reductions, and unique weapon text interactions).

How this FE Heroes damage calculator works

This tool is designed for quick planning in Arena, Aether Raids, and Summoner Duels. You can test whether your unit secures a KO, how much damage reduction matters, and whether an effective weapon or triangle control flips a matchup.

The calculator uses a practical damage flow:

  • Modified Atk = (Atk + Atk Buff/Debuff), then triangle/effective multipliers are applied.
  • Defense stat used depends on attack type (Def for physical, Res for magical).
  • Raw damage = Modified Atk - Def/Res + Special Bonus + True Damage.
  • Final damage applies percentage damage reduction.
  • Total damage = Final damage per hit × Number of hits.

Input guide

Attacker Atk and Atk Buff/Debuff

Use your visible combat Atk estimate for the attacking unit. The buff/debuff field lets you simulate drives, visible buffs, panic effects, or map pressure quickly without recalculating everything manually.

Physical vs Magical

Select Physical for swords/lances/axes/bows/daggers/beasts and Magical for tomes/staffs/dragon-like magical targeting scenarios. This determines whether Def or Res is subtracted.

Triangle and Effective damage

Triangle advantage/disadvantage is modeled as a direct Atk multiplier. Effective damage is modeled as 1.5x Atk. These two settings are often the biggest breakpoint changers in FE Heroes.

Special bonus, true damage, and reduction

Use Special Bonus for one-time burst additions and True Damage for flat additive effects. Use Damage Reduction % to model common reduction skills and effects, then check whether your unit still secures a KO through mitigation.

Practical example

Suppose your attacker has 72 Atk with advantage, lands 2 hits, and your target has 42 Def with 40% reduction.

  • Set Atk = 72
  • Attack Type = Physical
  • Triangle = Advantage
  • Def = 42
  • Damage Reduction = 40
  • Hits = 2

Now add or remove true damage to see exactly how much extra fixed damage is needed to secure the knockout. This is especially useful when deciding seals, supports, or whether to fish for a special proc.

Tips to improve outcomes in FEH combat

  • Stack reliable Atk and true damage instead of overcommitting to conditional effects.
  • Use this calculator to identify minimum damage thresholds for one-round KOs.
  • If your unit misses KO by a few points, compare adding true damage versus reducing enemy mitigation.
  • Check both 1-hit and 2-hit outcomes to model follow-up denial or guaranteed doubles.
  • When building tanks, reverse the process to estimate the Atk needed to survive common threats.

Limitations and assumptions

This FE Heroes damage calculator is intentionally streamlined. It does not attempt to model every unique weapon, special trigger timing, miracle-style mechanics, deep fixed reduction stacks, staff-specific quirks, or all phase-dependent effects. It is best used for fast planning and rough matchup filtering before testing in-game.

FAQ

Is this an official Nintendo/Intelligent Systems calculator?

No. This is an independent utility for planning and theorycrafting.

Can I use it for PvP prep?

Yes. It is useful for estimating damage ranges and deciding which stat or skill investment gives the biggest practical improvement.

Why does my in-game result differ sometimes?

In-game combat includes many unit-specific clauses and timing rules. Treat this as a strong approximation tool, then validate close matchups in actual battles.
