What this flying star calculator does

This tool creates an annual Flying Star map based on your selected year. It also maps your entered facing direction into one of the eight sectors (N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW), then highlights both the facing and sitting sectors in the chart.

  • Calculates annual center star automatically
  • Builds the full 9-palace annual chart
  • Determines facing and opposite (sitting) sectors
  • Shows quick “supportive vs challenging” star interpretation
  • Optionally computes your 20-year Feng Shui period from build year

How annual flying stars are derived

In annual Flying Star practice, each year has a center star, and the other stars distribute into the remaining palaces following the Lo Shu pattern. This calculator uses the common annual center-star cycle and projects the directional stars from that center.

Practically, this means you can quickly see which sectors are likely to carry themes such as growth, illness risk, authority, conflict, or future opportunities for the selected year.

How to use the result

1) Start with room usage

Match important rooms (front door, bedroom, office desk zone) to the chart sectors. If a key room lands in a more challenging star sector for the year, keep that space calm and less activated.

2) Activate supportive sectors gently

Spend more time in helpful sectors for work, planning, or learning. Bright, clean, active spaces often work better than over-crowded decorative “cures.”

3) Treat challenging sectors with discipline

For challenging stars, minimize renovations, loud drilling, impulsive changes, and clutter. Stable routines and neat layouts often provide the biggest practical benefit.

About Feng Shui periods (20-year cycles)

If you enter your property completion year, this calculator returns the corresponding period (1–9). We are currently in Period 9 (2024–2043). Period context is useful for broader strategy, while annual stars help with year-to-year adjustments.
