2) Tile count by layout

  • Tiles along length = ceil((room length + grout) / (tile length + grout))
  • Tiles along width = ceil((room width + grout) / (tile width + grout))
  • Base tiles = tiles along length × tiles along width

3) Waste factor

A waste percentage is then added:

Total tiles needed = ceil(Base tiles × (1 + waste% / 100))

This buffer helps cover accidental breakage, odd cuts near walls, and the need for future replacements.
