Artifact Build Score Calculator
Enter your total artifact stats across all 5 pieces. This tool estimates your build quality by role, calculates Crit Value (CV), and gives practical upgrade tips.
Tip: You can pull these numbers from your in-game character details screen and artifact pages.
How this Genshin Impact artifacts calculator works
Artifact min-maxing in Genshin Impact often feels confusing because every character values stats differently. A Hu Tao build wants very different substats than a Raiden build, and both differ from a healer like Kokomi. This calculator gives you a fast snapshot of your artifact quality by combining your total substats into role-based scoring.
Instead of judging one artifact in isolation, it evaluates your full 5-piece setup. That’s useful when you’re deciding whether to keep farming, use Strongbox, or move your resin into talents and weapons.
Understanding Crit Value (CV)
Crit Value is still one of the fastest ways to evaluate offensive artifacts. The standard formula is:
CV = Crit DMG + (2 × Crit Rate)
- Example: 10.5% Crit Rate and 21.0% Crit DMG = 42.0 CV
- Higher CV usually means better damage consistency and ceiling
- CV is strongest for crit-scaling DPS characters
Important: CV is not everything. Reaction carries need Elemental Mastery, burst supports need Energy Recharge breakpoints, and shield/heal units prioritize HP% or DEF% depending on kit scaling.
Recommended targets by role
1) Hypercarry DPS
- Build CV target: 180+ (very solid), 200+ (excellent)
- ATK% from artifacts: around 60–80%
- ER: enough to burst on cooldown (often 120–140% depending on team)
2) Reaction DPS
- Elemental Mastery target: usually 250–500+ depending on trigger
- CV matters, but often less than EM for transformative reactions
- Don’t ignore ER if your damage pattern relies on burst windows
3) Burst Support
- ER is king: many supports feel best at 180–240% ER
- After ER comfort, scale offensive stats (CV, ATK%, EM) as needed
- A “lower CV but always-burst-ready” build usually outperforms greedy setups
4) Healer / Shielder
- Prioritize HP% or DEF% based on character scaling
- Hit ER requirements so utility is always available
- Crit is typically low priority unless kit explicitly converts it into value
Farming and optimization strategy
If your score is low, don’t panic. Artifact progress is naturally slow. Use this loop to improve efficiently:
- Step 1: Fix main stats first (Sands/Goblet/Circlet)
- Step 2: Reach ER comfort for your rotation
- Step 3: Improve substats (CV, EM, ATK%, etc.)
- Step 4: Use Strongbox for high-value set conversions
- Step 5: Stop farming when gains are tiny and invest in talent levels
Common artifact mistakes
- Overvaluing CV on characters that mostly scale from EM, HP, or DEF
- Ignoring ER and then failing to burst every rotation
- Breaking valuable 4-piece set effects for minor substat upgrades
- Judging single artifacts instead of total team rotation performance
Final notes
This calculator is an estimation tool, not a perfect simulator. True damage depends on character talent multipliers, weapon passives, enemy resistance, buffs, and team synergy. Still, using role-aware scoring and CV benchmarks gives you a clear, practical direction for what to farm next.
Use it as your quick artifact checkpoint: if your score is already strong, your resin may be better spent improving talents, weapons, or team supports.
