genshin impact damage calculator

Quick Damage Calculator

Estimate non-crit, crit, and expected average damage for a single hit.

This model is for direct hit damage and amplifying reactions only. It does not include transformative reaction base damage, enemy-specific modifiers, or multi-hit sequencing.

How this Genshin Impact damage calculator works

This calculator gives you a clean estimate for a single hit by combining your offensive stats, enemy mitigation, and optional amplifying reaction multipliers. If you are comparing two artifacts, two weapons, or two team buffs, this tool helps you see which setup gives the higher average output.

What is included

  • ATK scaling from your selected talent multiplier
  • Flat damage additions
  • Total DMG Bonus%
  • Character/enemy level defense multiplier
  • Enemy resistance and resistance shred
  • Crit rate, crit damage, and expected average damage
  • Amplifying reaction scaling (1.5x / 2.0x), EM, and reaction bonus%

What is not included

  • Transformative reaction base damage (Swirl, Hyperbloom, etc.)
  • Detailed snapshot mechanics
  • Full rotation logic with varying buffs per hit
  • Enemy-specific hidden modifiers

Step-by-step input guide

1) Enter your offensive stats

Start with your total ATK shown in the in-game details panel. Then use your talent multiplier (for example, a skill hit that says 248.7%). Add any flat damage bonuses if your setup includes effects that directly add to hit value before percentage multipliers.

2) Add crit and bonus damage

Input your Crit Rate, Crit DMG, and total DMG Bonus%. These are the biggest drivers for average output. Average damage is usually the most useful number when deciding between build options.

3) Model enemy mitigation

Use character level and enemy level to estimate defense impact. Then set enemy resistance and any shred from your team. Resistance is calculated using Genshin’s standard piecewise behavior, including negative resistance handling.

4) Add amplifying reactions if relevant

For Melt/Vaporize style hits, choose 1.5x or 2.0x and enter Elemental Mastery plus reaction bonus%. If your hit is not amplifying, set reaction to None.

Build comparison tips

  • Compare expected average damage first, not just crit values.
  • When Crit Rate is low, additional Crit DMG can look better than it actually performs in practice.
  • Resistance shred can outperform small ATK gains on high-resistance enemies.
  • EM value changes with team reactions—great in vape/melt teams, weaker in non-reactive teams.

Example quick test

Suppose your ATK is 2000, talent multiplier is 250%, total bonus damage is 80%, and you have 70/180 crit stats. Against level 90 with 10% resistance and 40% shred, you can quickly see how much your non-crit and crit hit differ, then check expected average to decide if switching to a Crit Rate circlet or EM sands is worth it.

Frequently asked questions

Is this calculator accurate enough for min-maxing?

Yes for single-hit comparisons and broad build decisions. For complete rotation DPS, use this as a fast planning layer.

Why is my in-game hit slightly different?

In-game combat can include extra buffs, enemy state changes, hidden modifiers, and timing effects not represented in a simple one-hit model.

Can I use this for every character?

Yes for ATK-scaling direct hits. For HP/DEF scaling characters or transformative reaction-focused teams, you can still use this as a baseline, but you may need specialized formulas for perfect accuracy.
