What this Hattrick training calculator does

This calculator estimates how many weekly training updates a player needs to move from a current skill level to a target skill level. It is built for practical squad planning: deciding when to buy, when to sell, and how to sequence your trainees over a season.

Hattrick training outcomes depend on many factors, and no public calculator can match the game engine perfectly. But with the right assumptions, a good estimate is far better than guessing—and that is exactly what this tool is made for.

How the estimate is calculated

The model converts your settings into a weekly skill-gain rate. From there, it divides the skill gap by that weekly gain and rounds up to whole training weeks.

Current and target skill

Enter your player’s current main skill and the level you want to reach. Decimal values are allowed if you use your own internal estimates between visible pops.

Age

Younger players train faster in most setups. The model applies a stronger factor for teenagers and a gradually lower factor as age rises.

Minutes trained

Full training usually expects 90 minutes in the correct position. If a player gets 45 minutes, use 45. If he misses the week, use 0.

Training intensity and stamina share

Higher training intensity increases speed, while higher stamina share reduces skill training share. This tradeoff matters a lot over long horizons.

Practical planning tips

  • Batch players by age and stage so your pops happen in predictable clusters.
  • Use friendlies to protect minute coverage for key trainees.
  • Track each pop date in a sheet; recalibrate every 2–3 weeks.
  • Avoid overestimating old trainees: transfer timing is everything.
  • When in doubt, plan for one extra week as a safety margin.

Example scenario

Suppose you train a 19-year-old scorer from 6.0 to 10.0 with full 90-minute training, 100% intensity, 10% stamina share, trainer level 8, and two assistants. You may see a result near a single season timeline. If that same player is 27, the same jump can take substantially longer.

  • Ignoring partial minutes (especially from substitutions or position swaps).
  • Using ideal intensity assumptions while running lower intensity in reality.
  • Forgetting stamina share changes after tactical adjustments.
  • Treating estimates as exact instead of ranges.
