How this income tax Pakistan calculator works
This tool uses progressive slabs. That means your entire income is not taxed at one rate. Instead, each portion of your income is taxed according to the slab it falls into. The calculator then adds those slab amounts to produce your estimated annual tax.
- Accepts annual or monthly taxable income
- Supports salaried and non-salaried categories
- Shows estimated annual tax and monthly tax impact
- Displays effective and marginal tax rate

Manual tax calculation in Pakistan (simple method)
Step 1: Find taxable income
Start from gross annual income and subtract admissible exemptions or deductions (if applicable) to get taxable income.
Step 2: Choose the correct slab
Identify all slabs crossed by your taxable income. You may cross multiple slabs, and each part is taxed separately.
Step 3: Add tax from each slab
Compute slab tax one-by-one and then sum it for total annual tax. Divide by 12 if you want an estimated monthly deduction.
Example
Suppose a salaried person has annual taxable income of PKR 2,000,000 (Tax Year 2025 option):
- First PKR 600,000 at 0% = 0
- Next PKR 600,000 at 5% = 30,000
- Remaining PKR 800,000 at 15% = 120,000
Total estimated tax = PKR 150,000 annually (about PKR 12,500 monthly).
