Last Epoch DPS Calculator

Estimate your average hit and effective DPS based on increased damage, more multipliers, crit stats, and enemy resistance.

How to Use This Last Epoch Calculator

This tool is built for players who want a fast way to compare gear, passives, and skill tree changes. Instead of guessing whether a stat line is better, you can plug in your values and get a clean estimate of non-crit hit, crit hit, average hit, and final DPS after resistance.

It is especially useful when your build has many stacked multipliers and the in-game tooltip feels unclear. By separating increased and more bonuses, this calculator reflects the way damage scaling works in Last Epoch much more accurately than simple additive math.

What the Calculator Includes

  • Base + Added Damage: combines your starting skill value and flat damage from gear, idols, and buffs.
  • Increased Damage: one large additive bucket.
  • More Multipliers: stacked multiplicatively from skill nodes, buffs, and conditional effects.
  • Crit Chance & Crit Multiplier: used to produce an average hit value over time.
  • Enemy Resistance and Penetration: gives an effective DPS estimate after defense layers.

Core Formula (Simplified)

1) Hit Before Crit

First, the tool computes your hit before crit:

(Base Damage + Added Damage) × (1 + Increased/100) × Product of all More Multipliers

If your more multipliers are 30% and 25%, the multiplier is 1.30 × 1.25 = 1.625, not 1.55. That difference is a big deal for high-end scaling.

2) Average Hit with Crit

Next, it blends non-crit and crit outcomes:

Average Hit = Non-Crit Hit × [(1 - CritChance) + CritChance × CritMultiplier]

This gives realistic long-fight damage and avoids overestimating burst windows.

3) Effective DPS vs Resistance

Finally, resistance is applied after penetration/shred:

Effective Resistance = Enemy Resistance - Penetration

Effective DPS = Raw DPS × (1 - Effective Resistance/100)

If effective resistance goes negative, damage increases appropriately.

Practical Build Optimization Tips

Balance Your Buckets

If you already have huge increased damage, another small increased roll may be weak compared to a new more multiplier, attack speed, or crit improvement. This is why balanced scaling often wins.

Check Penetration Value in Endgame

When pushing Monolith corruption, enemy durability gets noticeable. Penetration and resistance shred can outperform raw sheet DPS changes. Use this calculator to test whether a penetration prefix beats a flat damage prefix in your setup.

Use Side-by-Side Testing

Run one set of numbers, note the effective DPS, then change only one stat at a time:

  • Swap one affix roll
  • Change one passive cluster
  • Toggle one buff state

This isolates the real value of each upgrade and prevents bad assumptions.

What This Calculator Does Not Model

  • Ailment stacking (Bleed, Ignite, Poison, etc.)
  • Damage over Time snapshots and ramp behavior
  • Conditional uptime (boss movement, proc chance, on-kill effects)
  • Defensive stats like armor, endurance, ward generation, and avoidance

Think of this as a clean hit-based DPS baseline. For ailment or proc-heavy builds, use this for your direct-hit layer and evaluate secondary mechanics separately.

Quick Workflow for Real Upgrades

  1. Enter your current build stats from character sheet and skill tree.
  2. Save the effective DPS result as your baseline.
  3. Simulate one upgrade at a time (weapon, idol, blessing, passive shift).
  4. Choose the upgrade with the biggest gain per effort/cost.

Using a consistent process like this helps you avoid crafting or trading into side-grades and keeps progression smooth.
