male delusion calculator

Estimate how many men match your dating filters. This tool is a rough probability model for self-reflection, not a judgment.

Model assumptions use broad population averages and independent probabilities. Real life is more complex.

What is the Male Delusion Calculator?

The male delusion calculator is a standards-vs-availability estimator. You enter your preferred filters (age, height, income, education, relationship status), and it estimates what share of men likely fit all criteria at once.

The word delusion is intentionally provocative, but this tool is best used as a reality check—not as an insult. Everyone is allowed to have preferences. The value comes from seeing the tradeoffs clearly.

How the estimate is computed

1) Age pool

The calculator starts with the share of men inside your selected age range (18 to 70). A narrower age range means a smaller initial pool.

2) Height and income thresholds

Height is modeled with a normal distribution by region. Income is modeled with a skewed distribution (log-normal style), since high income levels are much less common than average income.

3) Education and fitness filters

If you choose degree or fitness requirements, the model multiplies by those rates. Stronger requirements reduce the pool quickly.

4) Relationship status and parental status

Selecting “single only” and “no children” can significantly shrink the candidate pool, especially in older age ranges.

How to interpret your result

  • 20%+ match rate: Broad criteria; many people qualify.
  • 5%–20%: Selective but practical in larger dating markets.
  • 1%–5%: Highly selective; may require time and wider search radius.
  • Below 1%: Extremely tight criteria; expectations and timeline may conflict.

Use this tool wisely

A low percentage does not mean your standards are “wrong.” It simply means your target profile is rare. Rare can still work—you may just need more patience, broader geography, better screening, and realistic timelines.

  • Keep your non-negotiables.
  • Re-examine “nice-to-have” filters.
  • Prioritize character and compatibility over checklist perfection.
  • Remember that attraction and relationship success are not purely statistical.
