What this pokemon calculator pokemon go tool helps you do
If you play Pokémon GO regularly, a calculator can save huge amounts of Stardust, Candy, and time. Instead of powering up blindly, you can estimate whether a Pokémon is better for raids, gym offense, gym defense, or PvP leagues before investing resources.
This calculator focuses on practical decisions: your current CP at a chosen level, maximum CP at level 40 and 50, your IV percentage, and whether your build fits Great League (1500 cap), Ultra League (2500 cap), or Master League (no cap).
How CP is estimated in Pokémon GO
The core CP formula used by most tools is:
CP = floor((Atk × √Def × √Sta × CPM²) / 10)
- Atk = Base Attack + Attack IV
- Def = Base Defense + Defense IV
- Sta = Base Stamina + Stamina IV
- CPM = CP multiplier tied to your Pokémon’s level
HP is estimated with: HP = floor((Base Stamina + Stamina IV) × CPM). The game then applies final rounding and minimum thresholds (for example, CP minimum 10).
How to use this calculator correctly
1) Enter accurate base stats
Base stats are species-level values (for example, all Swampert share the same base stats). These are not the same as current in-game CP or HP.
2) Enter exact IVs from appraisal
IV spreads matter a lot, especially for PvP. A Pokémon with lower Attack IV but higher Defense/Stamina often performs better under CP caps.
3) Use proper level increments
Levels in Pokémon GO progress in 0.5 steps. This tool validates half-levels (like 21.5 or 37.0) and returns an error for invalid values.
Why IV percentage is helpful—but not everything
IV % is a quick quality score: ((Atk IV + Def IV + Sta IV) / 45) × 100. A 100% IV Pokémon is great for collectors and Master League candidates. But in Great and Ultra League, the “best” PvP IV is often not 100%.
For capped leagues, total stat product at the highest legal level can outperform pure IV percentage. That’s why this tool also shows a PvP stat product estimate.
League planning tips
- Great League: Keep CP at or below 1500. Bulk-heavy IV spreads are often ideal.
- Ultra League: Keep CP at or below 2500. XL Candy investments can be worth it for top meta picks.
- Master League: No CP cap. High IV and max level usually matter most.
Common mistakes trainers make
- Powering up before checking if a Pokémon crosses a league CP cap.
- Assuming “15/15/15 is always best” for every format.
- Ignoring level breakpoints and matchups in PvP.
- Spending XL Candy without checking final CP and role first.
FAQ
Is this an official Niantic calculator?
No. It is an independent estimate tool based on known Pokémon GO formulas and CP multipliers.
Can I use this for raid attackers?
Yes. Enter your base stats, IVs, and target level to compare potential raid builds and decide where to invest Stardust.
Does this include shadow bonuses or mega bonuses?
Not directly. This version focuses on core CP/HP/IV calculations. For advanced team building, add external multipliers for shadow or mega contexts.
