Pokémon Y IV Calculator (Gen 6)
Enter your Pokémon's observed stat details to calculate possible IVs (0-31) for one stat at a time.
What this Pokémon Y IV calculator does
This tool estimates the possible Individual Value (IV) for one stat at a time in Pokémon Y (Generation 6). IVs are hidden numbers from 0 to 31 that influence how high each stat can become. By entering your Pokémon's level, base stat, EV investment, nature effect, and observed stat, you can find every IV value that fits.
How IVs are calculated in Gen 6
HP Formula
HP uses this structure: floor(((2 × Base + IV + floor(EV/4)) × Level)/100) + Level + 10.
Other Stat Formula
Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Speed use: floor((floor(((2 × Base + IV + floor(EV/4)) × Level)/100) + 5) × Nature). Nature is 1.1, 1.0, or 0.9.
How to use the calculator effectively
- Pick a preset Pokémon or manually enter the base stat.
- Select the exact stat you are checking (HP, Attack, etc.).
- Enter your current level and known EVs in that stat.
- Choose how nature affects that stat.
- Type the observed in-game stat and calculate.
Why results can show a range instead of one IV
At lower levels, several IV values can produce the same final stat because of rounding. That is normal. If you want a precise IV, check again at a higher level or after using a reliable EV reset/training setup.
Breeding better IV Pokémon in X/Y
Fast practical tips
- Destiny Knot: passes 5 combined IVs from parents.
- Everstone: locks the parent's nature.
- Friend Safari: great source of Pokémon with strong IV potential.
- Track EVs carefully: Super Training and controlled battles prevent estimation mistakes.
Common mistakes when checking IVs
- Using the wrong base stat for a species or form.
- Forgetting nature only affects non-HP stats.
- Ignoring hidden EV gains from random battles.
- Checking too early at low levels and expecting a single exact IV.

Can this calculator check all six stats at once?
This page calculates one stat at a time for clarity and accuracy. Repeat the process for each stat.
Does this work for Pokémon X too?
Yes. Pokémon X and Y use the same Gen 6 stat mechanics.
