Ley Beckham Tax Calculator (Spain)

Estimate your annual tax under the Ley Beckham regime versus Spain's general progressive resident tax brackets.

What is this Ley Beckham calculator?

This calculator gives a quick estimate of how much income tax you might pay if you qualify for Spain's special expat tax regime (commonly called the Ley Beckham) compared with the normal Spanish resident tax system. It is designed for employees and executives who want a practical first-pass comparison before speaking with a tax advisor.

How the comparison works

1) General Spanish resident taxation (simplified)

The general system uses progressive bands. In this page we apply a common set of national + regional reference brackets for estimation:

  • 19% up to €12,450
  • 24% from €12,450 to €20,200
  • 30% from €20,200 to €35,200
  • 37% from €35,200 to €60,000
  • 45% from €60,000 to €300,000
  • 47% above €300,000

2) Ley Beckham taxation (simplified)

Under the special regime, qualifying employment income is typically taxed at:

  • 24% up to €600,000
  • 47% above €600,000

The calculator applies those rates to your taxable employment base after deducting your employee social security input.

Inputs explained

  • Annual Gross Salary: Your fixed yearly salary before tax.
  • Annual Bonus: Variable compensation expected for the same year.
  • Employee Social Security Deduction: Estimated employee contribution deducted from payroll.
  • Salary Payments per Year: Useful in Spain where compensation can be paid in 12 or 14 installments.

Why people use a Beckham Law calculator

For many international hires, the biggest question is net income. A simplified Beckham law calculation helps with:

  • Negotiating relocation and salary packages
  • Comparing Madrid/Barcelona offers versus other countries
  • Planning cash flow and monthly savings
  • Evaluating the value of RSUs, bonuses, or long-term incentives

Important assumptions and limits

This tool is intentionally simple. It does not account for every item in Spanish tax law (autonomous community differences, deductions, family circumstances, stock option timing, double-tax treaty mechanics, foreign-source income specifics, wealth tax, etc.).

Use this as an educational estimator, not legal or tax advice. For decisions involving immigration, payroll design, and cross-border structures, consult a qualified asesor fiscal.
