If you want a quick estimate for your Marks & Spencer bra size, use the calculator below. It follows a common UK sizing method based on your underbust and fullest bust measurements, then suggests a starting size and sister sizes to try.
M&S Bra Size Estimator (UK)
How this Marks & Spencer bra size calculator works
This tool gives you a practical UK bra size starting point. It is inspired by common fitting logic used across many UK lingerie retailers:
- Your underbust determines your band size (28, 30, 32, 34, etc.).
- The difference between full bust and band size estimates your cup size (A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, FF, and beyond).
- Fit preference lets you bias toward a tighter or looser band for comfort.
Remember: every bra style fits differently. A plunge, balcony, T-shirt, and non-padded full-cup bra can all feel different in the same nominal size.
How to measure for the best result
1) Underbust measurement
Wear a non-padded bra or measure braless. Keep the tape parallel to the floor and snug around your ribcage right below your bust. Exhale gently before reading the number.
2) Full bust measurement
Measure around the fullest part of your bust without compressing tissue. Keep shoulders relaxed and tape level all around.
3) Re-check once
If your first result seems off, measure both numbers one more time. Small measurement changes (even 0.5-1.0 inches) can shift cup results.
Understanding UK cup progression at M&S
UK cup sizing is not always linear in lettering across countries. In UK sizing, cup progression commonly looks like this:
- AA, A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, FF, G, GG, H, HH, J...
That means DD and FF are normal part of the sequence—not “extra-large” by default. Cup volume is always relative to band size. For example, 32F and 36F do not hold the same volume.
Sister sizes: your secret fitting tool
If your calculated size feels close but not quite right, try sister sizes:
- Band too tight? Go up a band and down a cup (e.g., 34E to 36DD).
- Band too loose? Go down a band and up a cup (e.g., 34E to 32F).
This keeps cup volume approximately similar while changing band tension.
Common fit issues and simple fixes
Straps digging in
Often caused by a band that is too loose (straps overcompensate). Try a firmer band and adjust straps so they sit secure but not tight.
Cups gaping at top
Try a smaller cup, a different cup shape, or styles with more upper-cup containment like balcony/full-cup designs.
Spillage over cup edge
Move up a cup size (or two), and confirm the band is not too large.
Center gore not tacking
If the center panel floats away from your sternum, cup size may be too small or style shape may not match your breast root/projected shape.
Important note
This calculator is an informational estimator and not an official Marks & Spencer fitting tool. Use it as your first step, then confirm fit in real bras and styles you actually wear.
Quick bra fitting checklist before you buy
- Band sits level around your torso.
- You can fit about two fingers under the band comfortably.
- Center gore sits close to the sternum (for wired bras).
- No major cup overflow or wrinkling.
- Straps stay put without carrying all the weight.
